A Quick History

This site was first published in June of 1996, back at our old AOL server. If you are a faithful Sideshow Bob's Cavalcade Of Whimsy (SBCOW) fan you may remember the really old days. We had a poor design, leeched off other websites, and had no content. After I was fed up with this, I got a Xoom account. But Xoom put pop-ups and banners and all sorts of crap on your site, so I just used it to store files. I had a massive sounds collection then. But Xoom shut down my account and the site was soundless (in fact ever since that moment the site was never back to 100% even to this day). But we bounced back. I did the first redesign of the site then. I must say it was a halfway decent job. It pleasing to the eye and to the mind. I was ecstatic. Then in May of 1998, I stumbled onto a little known web site server called Freeservers. They gave me a semi-domain name (cavalcade.8m.com) and we still run on it to this day (though the sounds and movies remain on a Xoom account). But the move took a lot from the site and some sections were never uploaded. In the spring of 1998, I pretty much gave up hope for the site. Our popularity never took off and the most hits I've ever recieved in one day was 145. It was time for change. I shut down the Cavalcade. I had bigger and better plans for a new website that was not just dependant on The Simpsons. I wanted to make a mega-site. I began work on my mega-site, only to find out that my heart was not in it. I looked back on my pitiful Simpsons site and shut it down once more. Only this time, there was a message of a rebirth. I overhauled the entire site to bring you the fabulous design of today. But there was extra motivation involved. My site's greatest achievement came only weeks ago. My website was chosen to be in The Simpsons Internet Guide from Pride & Imprints(available for sale). Only 100 sites were chosen, it was a true honor. And that brings us to the present. If you read all this, you are either a friend or relative of mine, or you just have nothing better to do. Either way I thank you for your patronage.
